US Dime

The United States Dime was an essential part of the decimal coinage system.  Although the US Dime was not coined until 1796, it was considered in 1783 when Jefferson wanted to include it with a proposal for the decimal system.  The founding fathers believed that the decimal coinage was what the colonies needed to break away from the Old World.
